I think my body has mostly adjusted to the timezone. I didn’t have much difficulty sleeping in the hotel. The following day would be my last day in Las Vegas, as I would be flying out that evening. I still have a good several hours before I need to go to the airport so I thought that I should have a look around. However, I need to take care of things. I first need to check out the hotel. I was glad that the Plaza Hotel and Casino has a left hotel service which is a huge plus for me. Next I need to return the rental car. This might be a bit of a problem because I would not have transport anymore after this. I returned the car without any issues and I took their shuttle back to the airport. Annoyingly, the car rental was actually near the airport so I would be coming back here one more time.
I managed to get back to the town after that and thought that I should try the bus to get to the strip. There was a stop which wasn’t far from where I was. Along the way, the bus passed by The Strat Hotel, Casino and Skypod or simply The Strat. The name obviously is derived from stratosphere, which is a nod to the observation tower here. The observation tower is the tallest one in the United States and it is the second tallest in the Americas. I kept seeing the tower when I was downtown and I thought that I should go visit it while I was here. The tower’s design already looks dated. Unlike more modern ones built recently. Even the lobby looks dated.
It looks like it suffers from it’s rather poor location away from the main Las Vegas Strip. This is understandable that they would end up here because there is no way they would be allowed to built a tower this high so close to the airport. However, their location away from the strip would also mean that they would have a great view of the strip. I think it would be nice to see the view from the top at night but I don’t have the luxury of time since I would be flying out that evening.
