Our tour guide at Antelope Slot Canyon was very informative. Not only was he pointing out specific points of interest in the canyon but he would also tell stories about tragedies that happened here. Ever since that happened, measures were put in place to help avoid a repeat but you can’t help but feel anxious about it. Looking around you can also notice that there doesn’t seem to be any sign of life in the canyon other than tourists. I would have expected that there would be small animals which would have made a home here in the canyon however there weren’t any. There are birds here but they are mostly near the top of the canyon.
I think the animals understood the danger of a place like this and it would be foolish to stay here for long periods of time. Birds would have been okay since they can easily fly off. Ultimately, our tour was quickly coming to an end. The literal end of the tunnel was getting brighter by the moment. It wasn’t really a long tour but it seemed like every inch of the canyon was interesting. It is no wonder that I took a lot of photos here. After all, I think this was one of the highlights of my one week break. I know there are other places nearby but I am still glad that I got the chance to visit. As we were emerging from the canyon, I got blinded by the light outside. I forgot how bright it was outside that it took some time for my eyes to adjust.
