It helps a lot that the topography at Page is so varied. There seems to be many view points wherever you go. I visited the Wahweap Overlook which looks over Wahweap Bay, the Colorado River and also the Glen Canyon Dam. It wasn’t super high up but it was good enough to see the immediate area. There is one more spot I would like to visit because I call it quits for the moment. From Google Maps, I noticed that is yet another overlook not too far away. The Glen Canyon Dam Overlook as the name implies gives you a view of the Glen Canyon Dam. I know i have just visited the Glen Canyon Dam itself but maybe this is another angle to appreciate the dam.
The turn actually wasn’t that prominent, there was a sign which said scenic road but you wouldn’t know what it was all about. I just followed the road and eventually ended up at a car park. The car park wasn’t that large though and a lot of the spots were already taken. It seems that this place is quite popular with tourists. I managed to find a spot myself and I was on my way. There is no entrance fee this time so feel free to come and have a look. Immediately, I noticed that there is still a bit of walking that needs to happen. And this goes some nice sandstone scenery. The stairs were just carved out of rock and they weren’t in the best of conditions. So make sure to watch your step when visiting.
