Cape Royal is one of those spots at the North Rim of the Grand Canyon which faces the South Rim. In fact, several points I have been to at the South Rim are visible from Cape Royal. I am not surprised that I can’t pinpoint anything on the other side since the canyon is that wide. However, it would be interesting to know that directly across Cape Royal is Moran Point and Grandview Point which I have been to the previous day. What’s more, those spots are actually only thirteen kilometers away. I thought that that is a distance that I should be able to walk. However, this is easier said than done since the Grand Canyon is wide, it is deep and it is steep.
Hikers can the better part of the day to walk from the North Rim to the South Rim. This is doubly hard to do when it is summer when the temperatures at the canyon can get really hot. Cape Royal has the widest view of the Grand Canyon which you can get. It is also the southernmost point of the North Rim. I guess that makes sense that you can see the most of the Grand Canyon from here since it reaches all the way down. Like the other points, there is a viewing area here and there is a barrier to protect visitors. Fortunately, there is more space here compared to the other places so feel free to take all the photos you want.
