The North Rim of the Grand Canyon appears to be more pleasant to visit compared to the South Rim. This is primarily due to the smaller number of visitors that the South gets. It also helps that it is at a higher elevation compared to the South Rim making the North Rim cooler. There are still temperature warnings for people who wish to go down the canyon and there will be people who will do that. I would prefer flatter terrain when I do hike. With such a difference in elevations, I don’t think I am ready to do that. That’s is why I have the car.

The North Rim has a few points that are worth visiting, apart from the North Rim itself. It seems that these points are easy enough to visit so I should just go ahead. I totally forgot to have lunch because I was too busy trying to figure out where to go. I just followed the signed to Cape Royal which is actually at the end of the road but there are some viewpoints along the way. One of these is Roosevelt Point Overlook. There is a small parking area for vehicles and this makes you realize that not many people make it here. There was enough parking for me though. The view is right where the car is so I quickly got my shots. From here you can see well below the canyon. It seems that these are some of the oldest rock in the area.
