One good thing about the North Rim of the Grand Canyon is that the developed area is much smaller. This is not to say that it is any less majestic compared to the South Rim but that there are less roads here, less hotels and shops to visit. This also includes the are less easily accessible scenic spots. In fact, it is very convenient for me since this means that I would be able to visit them all. Cape Royal is one of the more significant places to visit here. It takes some time to get to Cape Royal from the North Rim Visitor Center.
There roads are slightly narrower here so you can’t really go that fast. Although the satnav says that it is only less than 25 miles to Cape Royal, the road is winding and can get a bit scary in some parts. There isn’t a lot of traffic on the road so I just took my time to go there. There will be the occasional large camper van which makes driving difficult in these narrow roads but I managed. There are a few viewing points along the way with the Roosevelt Point Overlook being one of them. It is not difficult to find Cape Royal. It is literally at the end of the road and parking is plentiful.
