This is a place called Bright Angel Point here in the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. I have seen another similarly named Bright Angel Trail at the South Rim but that one is the most well known of the hiking trails in the Grand Canyon. I don’t think the trail links all the way to Bright Angel Point though, if I’m mistaken and it does, that would have been an epic hike. There is a well paved path from the Grand Canyon Lodge North Rim to Bright Angel Point. It is built on top of a finger of land which sticks out from the canyon. The fact that this path is very well maintained tells me that this is one of the most popular trails in this area.
In some sort of a challenge to the hike, for some reason, it was very windy here. I felt that I could be blown off the trail any time and I was trying hard to make sure I am holding on to something. I wasn’t expecting this. The wind was so strong that it made taking photos at the Bright Angel Point very difficult. I also tried taking photos with my phone, but I found that I need to hang on to it for dear life else I might accidentally let the phone fly because of the wind. The actual viewpoint at Bright Angel Point has a barrier to keep people from getting blown away by accident. I was holding on to the rails while I was taking photos just to keep my balance. I really wasn’t expecting this and I guess it was a nice change from the constant weather that I have experienced in this area.
