Looking at the Vermillion Cliffs National Monument

While I was aware that there Arizona has a lot of natural wonders, I was also aware that I won’t be able to visit all of them all in one go. The desert landscape here in Arizona while it can be incredibly hot, it is also beautiful. I imagine that it would be much more pleasant to visit in the fall where temperatures are more tolerable but I don’t know if you would still get the clear skies that I got in the summer. Not too far from Page in Arizona is a rather prominent land form. The Vermillion Cliffs National Monument as the name implies is a set of large cliffs which are of course, red.

The color of the cliffs is rather striking and I think it would look even better when the sun is setting. It was still mid-morning when I arrived and I didn’t really get the colors I was hoping for. I would imagine that I would have some time on the way back when the sun is lower in the sky. The cliffs seems to stretch of miles and it seems to be a very formidable place to traverse. I would find out that that it is actually possible to visit this national monument but some parts would need some permits. There is a rather famous one called The Wave which some of you might have already seen in the web. Permits are very limited in the summer as they are drawn by lottery. It might be easier to visit in the lean months but the weather might be colder.
