I arrived just before sun down in a small town called Page in Arizona. The drive was uneventful but I knew it is going to be hot here. I was already almost evening and it was still very warm. I feel guilty but I think I would need to have the air-conditioning running most of the time. Or it would get uncomfortably warm in the inn. I took a bit of time to rest from the long drive but I don’t think I can afford to sleep yet. I know I was still jetlagged but I still have to eat dinner before turning in for the night. Now, Page is much smaller than Flagstaff where I was the previous night but it seems that Page is a tourist town, so there should not be any shortage of places to eat here.
Not wanting to have to walk in the heat, I still drove. There was a barbeque place nearby and it seems to be quite popular. There is only street parking though so hopefully I won’t get a ticket from this. Big John’s Texas BBQ seems to be the most popular place in town. Although they have an indoor section, most people would be sitting outside on a covered lot. This area would be very lively with a band playing while you have your dinner. I had to wait a bit to get a seat but it was easy enough to get a seat for one person. I had the sampler plate which various pieces of meat. Ribs, brisket and sausage. I like this kind of food and it was very tasty. I can see why people would fill this place up. It isn’t very far from my accommodations, so I could have just walked to it and perhaps sample some of the local drinks.
