It was my last day in Paris. I have seen a lot of places today. I dedicated the whole day to just randomly walk around Paris. That isn’t exactly true because I had to visit Saint-Chapelle which I didn’t get to visit the last time I was here. I visited the Île de la Cité and its surrounding area. A lot of these places I didn’t know about so I was glad to be able to see them. There were a few disappointments notably the Notre-Dame de Paris Cathedral which is closed because it is being rebuilt because of a disastrous fire. It was a great day but it was time to finish up my trip.
I ended up going Le Royal Opera Restaurant for dinner. It would be my last dinner in France for this trip so I was hoping to have a nice one. Fortunately, it wasn’t difficult to randomly find a nice place here in the city. I would check the restaurants if they have a lot of people eating that way I would have an idea of the quality. What I didn’t know was that a lot of the customers here were tourists. For some reason, there were a lot of Japanese here. Either way, Le Royal Opera serves French food. I had frog legs a la Provencal. I know some people may find frog disgusting but it is nice. Like they say, it tastes like chicken.
For my mains, I had duck tournedos with foie gras. I guess, my dining habits are quite controversial but you don’t have to eat it if you don’t want to. Duck tournedos is basically fillet duck breast. Yes, I had quite a lot duck this trip. I don’t get to eat duck that much so I took the chance to eat it as much as I can. My meal wasn’t really anything special. I think I had other much better meals here. I can’t really complain though since it wasn’t really bad. I don’t know if I would have better luck in a different restaurant. I would probably choose a different restaurant the next time I would be in the area.
