It seems that I have stumbled into yet another significant French landmark. I just followed people streaming into an unknown place just hoping that it is something important. I know I could have just looked it up on my phone but I think I like the element of surprise here. The buildings look very palatial, and from the looks of it, it was actually a palace. Over the years, the palace got turned into a museum. That museum is now one of the most visited in the world – the Louvre Museum or just the Louvre. I have visited the Louvre previously and I don’t have any intention of going in again. I think it wouldn’t have been a good idea to go in at that time since it was already late in the day, and based on part experience, you would need at least half the day just to see just the important bits.
It was already sun down and I was just outside the museum buildings. It was then that I realized that I never saw the Louvre at night. I know that Paris is sometimes called the city of lights and I never really got to see that. I thought it would be a good idea to wait for the lights to go on and take photos. Without going in the museum, I can still take interesting photos especially with this kind of light. At the center of the square here is the famous Louvre Pyramid designed by I.M. Pei. The lights inside the pyramid are already on and it was already making the pyramid stand out even more.
