Apparently, there was an existing place where the relics of Saint Genevieve Patron Saint of Paris could be found. It was originally planned to be moved to the nearby Pantheon but history intervened. The Saint-Étienne-du-Mont houses the relics of Saint Genevieve and it is right next to the large Pantheon in Paris. I almost did not notice it because it seemed to so insignificant compared to the Pantheon. It was nowhere near as large but I thought that since I was already here I might as well have a look.
As you can imagine there are far less visitors here compared to the Pantheon. It is a shame because there is still quite a bit of history here, especially considering that the relics of Saint Genevieve are here. The church is smaller than it looks from the inside. The roof is quite high compared to its length probably compensating for its smaller footprint. Since it still not that tall, it is easier to brighten up the interiors. It helps that it is very bright outside and that the windows or the church are large. One of the prominent features of this church is that divider which is formed by the row of pillars on both sides of the church. This effectively divides the church into three sections along the length of the church.
