I was a beautiful day in Paris. It was the last day of my trip here and I thought that I should make the most of the day. I got out very early that day, not just to tour but to also get an official antigen test. The only one I know at that time was the one at the airport. It didn’t take too long, but the airport itself was rather far. With that all done, I finally set out and started sightseeing. The River Seine is one of the most scenic places in the city. It has a lot of historical buildings which I won’t be able to relate to, but at least they look nice. Aside from buildings and towers, there are also parks here.
I ran into this small park which is named Place du Châtelet. I only know about Châtelet as one of the metro stations. It is only through this that I have a general idea of where I was. The square features a fountain named Fontaine du Palmier. I thought this square including the fountain is one of those built recently but I was surprised to find out that the fountain is more than two hundred years old having been built in the year 1808. I was quite surprised to know how something as seemingly insignificant as a fountain would still be maintained after all these years. This just goes to show you how many secrets Paris has to offer the visitor. If I lived here I know I would have a wonderful time just finding these interesting places.
