It was my last full day in Paris and I intend to make full use of it. I know I don’t really stay in big cities that much but I have some business in Paris. Specifically with COVID testing. As of the time of visit, I needed to have proof of negative test before I am allowed to reenter. Although Europe has loosened quite a lot of the pandemic restrictions, the level of loosening is different across Europe. France, at the time of my visit, only needed proof of vaccination for entry. However, Ireland needed an official negative antigen test at the very least. This is the type you need to visit testing centers for.
I scheduled a test at the airport, only because that was the only one I know, and the queue was not too bad compared to what I have seen later. The test and results were very quick, you just need to get there. I booked an early test so that I would have enough time in case anything happened. Sure enough, that was a queue but it moved quickly enough. Fortunately, I tested negative, hopefully thanks to my constant use of masks wherever I went. Even when I was having difficulty breathing because I was carrying a heavy backpack while masked up. Now that I am sure that I can go back home, it was time for me to continue my trip.
This time, I will not be going out of town. As you know, Paris has a lot of sights to see and I know I haven’t visited most of them. This time, I will be visiting one of the most beautiful attractions in the city – Sainte-Chappelle. Unlike the Sacre Coeur Basilica, I actually am aware of Sainte-Chappelle but I wasn’t able to visit it the first time I was here, since we only had a limited time here in Paris. Sainte-Chappelle is in the city center and it is within walking distance of several important places. I just hope that I get there early enough before any of the tourist crowd start coming.
