Getting to Chartres was a little confusing for me. I thought I figured out the Paris Metro system so it was relatively easy to figure out where I need to go. The metro system is integrated with the railway system as well so you can take regional trains from parts of the metro system. I thought this was the case to get to Chartres which is outside of Paris. Apparently, I needed to take a regional train that goes that way. What I didn’t know was that the train line wasn’t connected to the metro system so I needed to get out of the metro station and walk to the railway station. With the help of Google Maps, I was able to find the train station.
Eventually, I purchased tickets to Chartres but it isn’t as frequent as I hoped it would be. I had to wait at a cafe before getting on the train. As you might expect, the train ride was uneventful. It wasn’t crowded at all which made for a comfortable ride to Chartres. I had my eye on Chartres for a while now and I finally was able to add it to my itinerary. I don’t expect to spend too much time here but who knows, there might be surprises waiting for me here.
