I really liked the view that I saw from the bridge in Colmar. It was truly the signature view of La Petite Venise at Colmar. This is the same view that I saw from that poster at the apartment where I was staying at. I kept wondering where that place was because it sure didn’t look like the view at Petite France in Strasbourg. I noticed that there was a small caption in the poster and it said La Petite Venise and not Petite France. It was a totally different place. I quickly looked it up and found out the it is actually in the nearby city of Colmar so here I am.
Considering how well known this place is, there weren’t as many people here as I expected. You could easily take a photo at the best spot at the bridge with little to no waiting time. I saw a tourist boat pass through and wondered where it goes. I followed the canal until I came across another street which also crosses the bridge and lo and behold there was another view point here. I would argue that this is far prettier than the one on the other end because the houses here look much more “authentic”. The view looks old and totally not made up for tourists. I am pretty sure the other spot is maintained regularly, so it has this squeaky clean appearance. But this one on the other end has that rural feeling you don’t get from the other side.
