Impressive Piece of Steak at Elite Steakhouse in Strasbourg
After having a nice day exploring the city of Nancy, I quickly got back on a train to Strasbourg. I didn’t really have any plans for the rest of the day. Besides, I got back mid afternoon so there was little time for me to do anything anyway. I spent the rest of the afternoon walking around the beautiful city of Strasbourg. When evening came, I thought that I would like to have some steak for dinner. Now, I haven’t really had the luck of having good steak in France, even in previous trips. I was hoping that I would be able to finally get a nice one here in the city of Strasbourg. So I looked one up online and one that came up on a popular site is Elite Steakhouse. With a name like that, it better be good.

The place was actually not too far away from where I was staying so I thought it would be a good choice to have dinner at. From the main tram line, there is a bit of walking in what appears to be an industrial area. I was having second thoughts on where there is really a restaurant in this area. Eventually, I hit another main road and I saw that there was a row of restaurants here. I think there are buses I could have taken to get here but the tram was the easiest method I knew.
Because of their location in an industrial area, Elite Steakhouse has a huge place. I don’t know how many tables they have here but they can host a lot of people. So it is a bit discouraging to see so many empty seats here. I don’t know if it is because it was pandemic, or the location was not that good but who cares, I was already here and I couldn’t turn back and eat somewhere, unless I want to have some Chinese buffet next door. Anyway, the staff was very friendly and I was shown a board which has the samples of the steak they have. I can’t remember which one I had, which is a bad sign, but I was promised that it is one of the best cuts of steak.
The steak was impressive alright. It was huge! When I took a slice, I thought it was a bit cold around the edges. It also seemed to be dry. Obviously, I was unhappy with it. The steak came with the traditional Turkish rice which clued me in that this was actually a Turkish restaurant. Not that I mind that, I actually love Turkish food. However, for steak, this doesn’t seem to be a good choice for me. The steak became slightly better the closer I got to the bone but they then I was already disappointed. I was liking the rice more than the steak. For all that it’s worth – it was quite affordable. Also, it is halal. Unfortunately, I can’t help but feel that the travel website which recommended this place was gamed to push them up the rankings. In hindsight, I probably should have chosen another place nearer the city center. I was still full so I ended up walking back to the apartment which is around forty five minutes away.
