Since I have explored the Petite France quarter earlier in the day, I decided to rest a bit at Cerise Strasbourg which would be my accommodations for the next few days. I didn’t think I was in any hurry to go out since I have already seen the most important area of the city. I didn’t sleep the day away though, after a couple of hours I head out again. This time, I found out that the apartment is much closer to another tram stop – Lycée Couffignal. The tram stop is right at the corner and the road just goes straight to the apartment without going through the rather dodgy area on the other side. This is great because it is very convenient to get in and out of the city center. With the trams coming frequently, it doesn’t really matter that I was staying outside the city center.
I purchased a ticket good for three days of tram use. I still get confused with their different systems here. I would have thought they would all be similar but at least here in Strasbourg, you can purchase a tourist ticket which is good for three days of use. I got back to the city center and I was wondering where I should go. I noticed that there was a very tall tower as the tram was getting in the city center and I was wondering what it was. Even after getting off the train, I still can see the tower because of how tall it was. It seemed to the steeple of the Cathedral of Notre Dame de Strasbourg. I think I have found the next place I want to visit.
