I arrived Strasbourg earlier than expected. As a result, I ended up exploring a part of the city ahead of schedule. While I would like to say that I planned all this but the fact that I ended up going to Petite France ended up being fortunate for me because I ended up close to a tram station. What is good is that the tram brings me near the apartment where I will be staying. The trams come very frequently. I didn’t have to wait very long for the next tram. Since the trams come very often, they don’t fill up that much.
The tram has announcements on board, so you will know where exactly you are. In case you do not know where you are like me, I had to follow the tram on Google Maps. I got off at Krimmeri station because Google Maps told me to. I ended up going to the wrong side of the road because apparently, I looked for a different place. Fortunately, the actual place was not too far away. I had to pass through what appears to be a residential area which turned into an what looks like an industrial area. I wasn’t sure if this was the best place to put up a serviced apartment. It occurred to me that the serviced apartment might have been a different use before. Perhaps it was a factory before it got turned into a serviced apartment.
Checking in Cerise Strasbourg was a breeze for me. There were actual humans working here so there was no messing around with a kiosk. I got a room immediately. The view from the bedroom wasn’t the best. I had a great view of the next door factory. The apartment was nice enough. The place was clean and organized as you would expect. Since this is an apartment, there is also a small kitchen or rather stove in case you want to cook. I was told to keep the stove clean, but I never planned on using it in the first place. The closet doesn’t close very well, in fact, it doesn’t really close at all. It keeps sliding open but it didn’t really bother me. Do keep in mind that housekeeping will be cleaning the apartment everyday so if that bothers you, make sure you get a room which has a closet which closes properly.
The walls of the apartment seem to be quite thin. I found that I would be hearing a lot of things from the outside. At least, I think I would hear everything when people pass through the main hallway. Ultimately, it wasn’t too bad since I would be out most of the day. It didn’t bother me at night, in fact, it almost feels like I was the only one in the entire building. I think the place is a little expensive probably because Strasbourg itself is an expensive place to be in. But I would have wanted to see what my money was paying for. The interiors of the apartment were very bare which is a shame since it is already expensive to rent this place.
