When I first set foot in Strasbourg, it feels like I was in a very big city. Indeed, because lock down and all that, it feels like it has been ages since I have last explored a city. The city of Strasbourg is certainly quite modern. At the same time it has that feeling of elegance and charm that you would find in French cities. The buildings here are no skyscrapers, but they are big enough. It feels like that city was well planned and there is almost some sort of uniformity here. Looking at the elegant buildings, I can’t help but feel that I was walking in some upscale neighborhood.
As for transport, Strasbourg also has a transport system of its own. It has a tramway that goes to various parts of the city. In fact, the apartment where I will be staying in is along one of these tramways making it very convenient to go around in. I can see that the tracks are just dug out of the roads so you would need to watch out when walking in the city. It is unlikely that you will get run over but you do not want to be the first one. Walking around in Strasbourg feels very different from where I live. There is a lot of energy here, it is almost like there is no raging pandemic ongoing.
