I was getting a bit tired from walking the length of the Avenue de Champagne. It was a fancy house after fancy house. They didn’t look very welcoming either with the tall fences and gates. I guess it is to be expected since there are offices after all. I know people are normally able to drop by, but they would be primarily to purchase something. Along the way, I would see some cars parked off the side of the road and I would see people load some bottles into the car. Christmas was approaching, maybe they were most probably stocking up on the champagne for their house party. I would also see a few with open gates. Since it was still pandemic times, there was a tent set up outside for whatever they need to do. While I think it is nice but I think the tent needs to be wide open so keep it well ventilated.
Anyway, I reached the first roundabout along the Avenue de Champagne. I thought that maybe that would be enough walking for the day. But I noticed that there was a structure here which was the first structure I saw just as the train was pulling into the town. This was Champagne De Castellane. What is so distinctive about this place is that they have a tower. The tower is exactly what I saw from the train. I can’t really tell what the tower is for though. It does make their place quite different compared to the others. Looking at their building here it looks to be quite old.
