When I was planning my trip to this area, I noticed that ones of the locations is this small town called Épernay which apparently is the home of the world’s champagne. I’m not a massive fan of champagne, nor drinking in general but I thought I should just try to pay this place a visit. I think there will be a lot of walking here as there would be a lot of champagne producing establishments to see. For some reason, they ended up setting shop along a single street and it has been named the Avenue de Champagne. With a name like that, I think I definitely should pay this place a visit.
As you can imagine, the Avenue de Champagne is the town of Épernay’s biggest attraction. I was preparing myself to visit the avenue when I already found it. It ends at that roundabout where the Church of Notre Dame d’Épernay is. I dropped by a tourist office there who advised me that I should go for a wine tasting tour. This wasn’t really my thing but I decided to go for it since it is what made Épernay so well known. At the time of my visit, there was a parade of vintage vehicles and it was nice to see them still operational. It was around noon time on a Sunday, so it was quite lazy but people were still out and about looking at these old vehicles.
