I was originally planning on going to the Cathedral of Notre Dame de Reims but I unexpectedly found myself at the Palace of Tau, which also happens to be a UNESCO World Heritage site, so it is no biggie. It wasn’t obvious to me that the path led to the museum. I just followed the stream of people going there. Surely the local people would have already been to the museum by now. Oh well, it does give you a good idea of the size of the cathedral. Hint: it is not small. From the Palace of Tau, you have a view of the massive cathedral just outside its doorstep. I know that France has a lot of very large cathedrals but seeing one up close can really take your breath away.
There is still a fence which separates the palace from the cathedral, I still needed to go out. I was surprised that there is no way to get there from the palace itself. I hope they didn’t expect the would be king to go all the way out and back in the cathedral for his coronation. Anyway, the crowds at the night market have grown but fortunately, not at the cathedral. There is a dedicated pathway to the cathedral separate from the Christmas market. This is probably to deter people with food and drink to come here an eat. It would be a mess if that is the case since there are really a lot of people here.
