Now that I have finally arrived at the city of Reims, I needed to be able to set my backpack down somewhere. I was hoping that I would be able to check in early so that I would have a place to leave my bag. I would be staying at the Ibis Budget Reims Parc des Expositions which is somewhat outside the city center. It would be too far for me to walk there which means I needed to take the bus to get there. Bus 6 which stops right in front of the train station happens to go past the hotel. I don’t think I have used French buses that much so I was a little hesitant to try it.
There is system here that I wasn’t that familiar with. I can buy a ticket which I basically can be used as many times as possible as long as you use it within the time limit. In my case, I got one for three hours which I really wasn’t sure is worth it since I would be walking around a lot. The bus tickets come in cards which you tap when you board a bus. Bus tickets can be purchased directly from the driver. Just make sure that you have enough spare change to buy tickets as the driver might not have enough to give you change. The bus ride was smooth and there is an onboard announcement as well so you know where you are. I knew that I would need to get off at Patoux station so I was just watching out for it. The hotel is not too far from the bus stop.
