After two years of refraining from travel, I finally got the nerve to go, despite the raging pandemic. There have been measures put in place to help control the spread of the virus, hopefully, they would be enough to keep travel going. I got on an early morning flight to Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport. It won’t be my first time to visit France. I have been here two times and I thought it is a convenient destination which isn’t too far from Ireland. After less than two hours the plane landed at Charles de Gaulle Airport. I remember that this was a massive airport and it was very easy to get lost here. I had to transfer flights here which were in different terminals and I was rushing through the place hoping not to miss my flight.
This time is different. I got lost looking for immigration control but it turned out that it was that massive queue which I ignored. Somehow, there were a lot of people being funneled into immigration and frankly it was a disaster. There was absolutely no social distancing, the queues themselves were a mess and it was a bad start for my trip. I probably spent an hour in line waiting to get to immigration which itself didn’t take more than a minute. I was relieved to be able to finally get out of there and finally start my trip. I will not be staying in Paris just yet but will be leaving for another city. Fortunately, Charles de Gaulle Airport has a train station which connects you to various parts of France. I would need to procure a ticket and I will be on my way.
