The Pepper Pot tower is probably one most curious and interesting places in the entire estate. So far it has been all garden and more garden. But the Pepper Pot Tower is probably the one I would be remembering the most. The tower isn’t as old as it looks. It was built in the year 1911 by the landowners. I guess if you have enough money, you can decide to just build some sort of tower. The tower was more decorative in purpose than anything else. From the old photos, the tower was built on higher ground which lets you see the surrounding area. However, these days, the trees around the tower have grown so I doubt there would be much to see from the top.
The tower is said to be patterned after an inch pot. I don’t really see how a tower could look like a pot but that is the story of the name of the tower. I don’t know if it is possible to climb the tower at all. The gate at the entrance of the tower is closed but I don’t know if it is closed because of the pandemic or you really can’t go up the tower at all. I don’t see how it would be able to support a lot of people at the top given it’s size. Anyway, the gate is currently locked I don’t think it would be nice to go up since it would be dark and damp in there. At the foot of the tower are several cannons. Again, I think there are all ornamental.
