I think this would be it for our visit of Powerscourt Estate and Gardens. The kids are starting to get grumpy and complaining about how hot it is. It wasn’t. It is just as well, because we are already on the way back to the Powerscourt House. From the Japanese Garden there is a path back to the house, however there is still one more spot that is worth visiting here and it is on the way back. The Pepperpot Tower is a rather strange structure. It is a literal stone tower that was built here. It actually came as a bit of a surprise to just see it because the area where it is quiet and wooded.
The tower was built from the remains of an old church that was here. I was surprised to know that the tower itself is relatively new, having been built in the year 1911. I was hoping that it was part of some old castle and all the remains is the tower but this wasn’t the case. This was just a structure that was the conjured up by the count at that time. To this day, it remains one of the more curious structures that can be found in the grounds of the Powerscourt Estate.
