I timed my journey back from Kenmare so that I would reach the pretty village of Adare by noon. By this time, there were already shops open for outdoor dining. I thought I was lucky to be out on holiday during this time. I was miserable for the first two days because I can only do take out food, so it is basically fish and chips, pizza or burger. With outdoor dining finally open, I got a chance to eat something else other than that. That is if I can find a seat. I started at one end of Adare, and indeed, there were several which already have tables outside. Unfortunately, I seemed to have arrived a bit too late and there were already a lot of people eating.
I walked until the end of the street where I came across Pat Collins Bar. I guess not too many people walk that far for food and I managed to find a seat. Ironically, I ended up getting a burger, but at least I wasn’t sitting inside the car eating. Fortunately for me, it was warm enough outside. They have these tables set up outside. I got myself a nice wooden barrel to eat on. What about the food? The burger was okay, it didn’t really stand out of anything, I’m just glad it wasn’t bad. I had to go inside to pay for my meal and I was almost shocked to see the inside of a pub after all this time. There was nothing wrong with the pub itself, it’s just that it was empty because they can only offer outdoor dining at the moment. It is sad how the world has changed to drastically over the course of a year. At this point, I don’t even know what is normal anymore.
