I was exploring the Mizen Peninsula and the weather wasn’t exactly ideal. There were very low lying clouds which made visibility poor. I can still drive but it is low enough that you have difficulty seeing the horizon. You can forget about seeing the sky or the sun at this point. I can’t let something like that stop me since I was already there. Though the temptation to go back to the bed and breakfast and stay in bed is very strong. I still needed to continue on. The Mizen Peninsula isn’t huge so it is easy enough to cover. I was trying to make my way further down south when I came across a sign for the Wild Atlantic Way.
There would usually be these markers by the road which tells you that this is one of the places that are recommended to visit. For the vast majority of these places, they were very much worthy to be visited. I happen to run into another one of these with the name Altar. I thought that was a strange name for place but apparently this is the site of a Neolithic tomb. There was another vehicle parked here but the driver seemed to be more interested in operating his drone. This means that I won’t have other people when I visit the tomb. In the distance, you can also see the rough southern coastline of the area.
