Considering the low lying clouds obscuring the horizon upon my arrival at the village of Schull, I was happy enough with my visit. There is an attractive harbor here which would definitely look even better when the skies are clear. I got to walk around the harbor itself and see the crystal clear waters. This seems to be very common in southern Cork. What seems to be popular is watersports. I understand that Schull has a protected harbor here so strong waves arent very common. So watersports is a common activity here. I noticed that there were a number of boats parked here at the harbor and I thought to get a closer look.
The North Shore Pontoon is where people would park the boats because obviously, you can’t leave them at home. These boats while they may look big but most of them are actually inflatable, so presumably you can make them smaller. I understand that these are technically called ribcraft. I have never rode on these before and seeing as to how many of them are actually parked here, I would think that it is not as expensive as I think it is. Even if it can be shrunk down, I think it can still take a up a lot of space. Unsurprisingly, there is a daily or weekly fee when making use of the boat park but I think it is still worth is if it means easy access to your water craft.
