I was surprised to know that there was more to Galley Head than the cliffs that I have seen so far. I was already happy with the cliffs so everything else I see after that would be a bonus. It turns out that there is still another side of Galley Head that I haven’t seen. I discovered a hidden path which lets visitors go down to the water, where it is much quieter. It is by the car park. That was okay but I think it let me discover that there is a viewing deck here. I didn’t realize what it was at first but there was a bridge looking structure near the car park and I decided to go have a look.
It turned out to be a path to the Galley Head view point. I was disappointed that I wasn’t able to catch a glimpse of the lighthouse but there was indeed a spot where you can see it. It seems that the viewing deck was constructed out of private property. I suppose that the owner was tired of people trespassing across their land to have a look at the lighthouse. At the end of the path is the viewing deck where you can get expansive views of the land. This view is much less wild compared to the cliffs on the side facing the Atlantic. So everyone gets a choice of what view would suit them best. I think a more serene seascape is something I would prefer seeing.
