I was exploring the coast of West Cork. I wasn’t surprised that there were quite a few beaches along the way. I first came across Moloney’s Strand which is a beautiful stretch of beach. Not too far away from Moloney’s is Dunworley Beach which seems to be quite popular. Just comparing the two beaches, I would have preferred Moloney’s but there wasn’t a lot of parking there which probably makes Dunworley Beach more attractive to the visitor, and it shows. There were a lot of vehicles here including ones for long term stay. The parking area is just above the beach so it is easy enough to access. For people who prefer not to get wet. The view from the ledge is just as great.
Much of the area here is quite rugged which makes me wonder why this would be even considered a beach. There were cliffs which surround the area, which make for great views but not so much for swimming. There is a small area below where people can swim but it doesn’t seem to be like the white sand beach that Moloney’s has. I can see people on the ledge just sunbathing and just enjoying the view. This is normal when the sun is out in Ireland. It doesn’t come out that often but when it does, it makes you think that Ireland would be the most beautiful place in the world.
