The coast of West Cork seems to be treasure trove of beaches that are known only to the locals. I would only need to open up Google Maps to see how many beaches are within driving distance from where I was. I stumbled into the beautiful Moloney’s Strand which was packed with beach goers since it was a beautiful day. I expect that the other beaches I would be visiting would be just as packed, if not worse. The roads here are narrow enough so it might be a little scary to drive here with people just leaving their cars on the side of the road. I kept driving on from Moloney’s Strand, seeing that the road is already following the coast, I am sure that I would see another interesting place.
I was right, there was another beach further down the road. While I have never heard of Dunworley Beach, the locals sure have. I would probably consider Moloney’s Strand more attractive just because it has a lot of sand. Dunworley is a bit more rugged but for some reason there are more people here. Parking is a bit easier to find here even if I still had to park by the side of the road. I can see the people would be bring their caravans here and just have fun. I can see people have picnic tables here or just plain sunbathing. The parking area is actually a bit high up the beach area, so you can have a good look at the people below.
