My primary reason to visit this area of Kinsale is to see the Old Head of Kinsale which is a signature point in the Wild Atlantic Way. I noticed that there were a couple of beaches along the way and reminded myself that I need to drop by. Actually, there is no avoiding the beach since there is only one way to the Old Head. The first one I ended up in is Garylucas Beach. This is a long strip of white sand beach on the way to the Old Head. It seems to be quite popular as well with all the camper vans that are parked along the street.
This area is very flat, so it is difficult to take a photo of the beach. It is times like these that I need a drone to take aerial shots. I was lucky that it was still summer time and thus the sun sets much later in the day. This means I don’t have to hurry back. I don’t think I would be going anywhere else. The big town of Kinsale while nice, doesn’t have any open restaurants because of the pandemic, so I didn’t see any point to go back there. I do have to start looking for as place to eat here. Seeing how small the villages are in this area, I think finding food would be a challenge.
