I managed to arrive at the town of Kinsale in one piece. This is a popular place for people from Cork and they tend to flock here for the weekend. No surprise that because of this, Kinsale is known for its food scene. Unfortunately, restaurants are still not allowed to operate as of the moment so I probably won’t be able try any of their food. Rubbing salt into the wound, the weather wasn’t cooperating that afternoon as the sky was overcast and my photo of the famed marina of Kinsale looked very sad. Such are the challenges of taking photos in Ireland. Because the marina is no go, I decided to just check out the old town.
Kinsale used to be a prosperous port town but these days it is known more for its restaurants. Part of the old town center were still preserved and sometimes disney-fied. What I mean by this was that some of the houses in the old town center were painted with different colors. In fact, it is not unlike those colorful houses that you might have seen of Venice. I’m sure that this was done because of the tourism industry but it does make it look prettier. This pattern of painting houses various colors seems to be a common theme here in county Cork as I have seen this in other villages and towns.
