I got an opportunity to take a few days off work. This came just in time when local travel restrictions were lifted to people we free to travel across the country. Of course, the pandemic is still raging so precautions still need to be taken. I was actually having second thoughts on traveling but I think I really wanted those few days in a different place to give me mind a reset. Work from home is great and all but I want to see something other my computer and the house. When travel restrictions were lifted, I thought to go down to the south of the county to drive around.
Cork is a very large county so I decided to concentrate on Western Cork which seems to have more of the famous sights. The drive this time wasn’t as boring as before. I think it is because I sort of know what to expect now. I was also trying to challenge myself to get there without using a satnav. I did it but only up to Cork City. My destination wasn’t Cork city but rather the village of Kinsale which is beyond Cork city. I have heard of Kinsale before which is why I thought to start the trip there. You can say that Kinsale marks the start of the Wild Atlantic Way that is if you are going from south to north.
