Rosses Point

Beach at Rosses Point

Strandhill was a nice revlation to me since it showed me how popular the place is even in the middle of a pandemic. Even if the shops were closed there will still a lot of visitors here which shows you how much people like the place. The weather wasn’t looking that good anymore as the dark clouds have started to gather. I decided to move on to another spot but I think this would be the last one. I saw a sign for a Rosses Point and I thought of following it. While the name sounds familiar, I can’t recall anything about it, so I was hoping it would be somewhere nice. It is also one of the discovery points of the Wild Atlantic Way so I thought might as well give it a try.

Swimming Area at Rosses Point

Swimming Area at Rosses Point

One of the main features of Rosses Point is the presence of a golf course here but I wasn’t into that. At the very end of the road is what appears to be a boat club. Then it all came back to me. I have visited this place before. I remember the unimpressive beach here. As well as the unimpressive swimming area not far from the parking area. What I didn’t know was the this place seems to be a training area for scuba diving. There were a lot of young folk here going for training. Not too far away from here is an old watch tower, however you would need to walk a bit to have a closer look at it. I remember why I don’t recall anything about this area, it was because I didn’t find anything interesting here. Or maybe it was because of the not so good weather which made me forget about Rosses Point.
