Whenever I get the chance to go for a long drive, I tend to go north. It is probably that I am more familiar with the places in the north compared to the ones in the south. When travel restrictions were lifted, I got to travel various parts of the county Donegal including the west and the south. This time, inter county travel is allowed. I decided to go south and outside of the county for a change. This means going to the nearby county Sligo. It is a good hour to get to Sligo but once you get there there will be a few things to see. This part of the county is also part of the Wild Atlantic Way, so I know that I would have interesting places to see here.
Strandhill is one the places that I have visited previously. I only recall that there is a hill which I climbed near the beach. For some reason, Strandhill seems to be very popular. There were a lot of vehicles at the car park and I had to go find a spot in another one. Although outdoor dining is not officially open yet, there are places for people have snacks outside. I can see that most of the shops here are revolve around enjoying the beach, ie surfing. However, they are still not allowed to operate, so I can’t understand why there are so many people.
