So I drove an hour to Melmore Head in the hope of going to the famed Murder Hole Beach only to find out that the path to get there is closed now by the landowner who for years have made it land available for access. However, this has changed recently, so if you intend to come here for Murder Hole Beach, don’t bother. Our informant, a little girl who lives in the area told us that there is another way to get there but that would require some bit of hiking. I wasn’t really prepared for a hike but I thought to give it a shot anyway. The jumping off point would be Tranarossan Beach which I passed by on the way here. It is a nice big but secluded beach. There would be times where you could be the only person there.
I walked all the way to the other end of the beach where there are worn out paths obviously for hikers. The trails here weren’t very good as there are parts which are boggy. I wasn’t prepared with the proper hiking shoes so I ended up with wet socks, not the most pleasant experience. The point of the hike was to cross this headland and hopefully get to Murder Hole Beach. Along the way, I got great views of the ocean and it was great that the weather was cooperating. Towards the end you can see Murder Hole Beach to the right, however to get there, you have cross a treacherous area where people need to climb down. I don’t think I’m willing to risk my life for this and I was thinking how it would be if someone died because they fell, only because the only safe way there is closed.
