A lot of my tours around county Donegal have been merely following the highway in this area. In this case, I was following N56 from Dunfanaghy to wherever it takes me. Eventually, there would be a sign pointing the way home. That is why I took the chance to go around the county while travel restrictions are relaxed. As I traveled these highway, I eventually learned to rely on the road signs. There would usually be signs pointing to interesting places and it is easy enough to follow. I mostly look out for signs which are colored brown. These are usually signs which point to place of interest. I have found quite a few places this way and I was hoping to find more like these.
By following the N56 which takes me to northwestern Donegal, I managed to visit Dunfanaghy and several small towns along the way. My latest destination is the village of Bunbeg. I actually don’t know what to see here but I only saw that they have a port here so I thought to have a look. I didn’t know that Bunbeg also has a nice sandy beach area here which I thought was perfect for swimming since it is quite shallow, however it seems that the current can be strong that it is not recommended for swimming. From afar the colors of the waters around Bunbeg are stunning. I had to stop in the middle of the road to take a photo. There is a parking area near the beach itself, which makes it very convenient to visit.
