While I have heard of Inch Island, this is the first time I have actually tried visiting it. The travel restrictions made sure that I can only go around the county. Fortunately, Donegal is a large county and there is so much to see. Whenever I would pass by Inch Island, I would notice a sign which says Inch Wildfolw Reserve. It seems that Inch Island is home to various wildfowl. I am no birding enthusiast but I was hoping to see some interesting birds here. I got my chance when I started walking to Inch Castle, when I think I spotted what I think was geese. In the distance, I can see that there were groups of birds but they were too far away to see.
When I got back from Inch Castle, on the way out of the island, I heard the sound of birds chatter. I was then surprised by sight of swan here just going about. I don’t recall ever seeing something like this in the wild before, so I was quite amazed by it. There were also smaller types of birds here but I can’t really identify them. The birds are actually quite far away but my zoom lens helped me get closer. I think I need one which is twice as powerful since the birds still look small. However, I think it is a specialist lens and I don’t think I would be able to use it that much.
