Sitting Area at the Saldanha Suite at Fort Dunree
Fort Dunree is one of those places which can be polarizing. I’m not really huge on military stuff but this kind of thing can be interesting to other people. One of the points of interest here at Fort Dunree is the museum which is at the fort itself. I have been here at the fort a few times and I have never entered the fort itself. I have always only looked at it from the outside. As it turns out, it isn’t the only museum here. There is a place call the Saldanha Suite which is very museum like. This built on the building next to the fort. I could have sworn that this place used to be a cafe but it seemed like they turned it into a museum.
Nice Place to Appreciate Nature at the Saldanha Suite
It would probably be more accurate to describe the Saldanha Suite as a gallery rather than a museum. Compared to the remains of various structures around the gallery, the Saldanha Suite is like an oasis in a desert. The building is restored well and the interiors are of good quality. What struck me was how large the windows are. This means you can sit comfortably inside while you appreciate the natural beauty outside. At the time of my visit, the gallery was open to visitors. It was still pandemic times and there are hand sanitizers all around. However, this should not deter you from enjoying the Saldanha Suite.
