When I first saw photos of this secret waterfall, I was amazed at the colors of the photo. I was thinking that it has got to be super enhanced. But now that I got a good look at the place, it really is that colorful. The bright greens provide great contrasts to the color of the sandstone. Additionally, the skylight at the end, where the actual waterfall is, helps to highlight the waterfall itself. The waterfall is as pretty as it is advertised. However, you can’t really talk about this secret waterfall without talking about how to get there.
The journey is probably an adventure onto itself. While I would probably consider myself someone who would like to hike, I was caught very unprepared for the actual trek. I probably would have used proper footwear to help avoid some of the dangerous places. I would imagine that proper hiking boots would have been a good choice, but this only works up to a certain point since it is difficult to avoid getting wet here. Most especially that the waterfall area itself is fronted by a sandy beach from which you would be coming from. At some point, you would have probably have gotten rid of the hiking shoes and gone barefoot.
While I am no athletic specimen, I think I should still be able to do these kinds of things. However, I thought that the trek was quite challenging. I guess, getting stuck at home during a pandemic would take it’s toll on anyone. Still, I was glad that I managed to complete the journey and make it back alive to tell about it. My advice to others? Make sure you have good balance and bring footwear you can afford to get wet. Depending on the time of the day, you might need to go to thigh deep water. For kids, naturally, it would be even deeper. Avoid bringing really small kids and pets to avoid having to carry them in not so shallow parts. I dread to imagine slipping while carrying them.
