As of this writing, the world has completely changed in a span of a year. It has been more than a year since the pandemic of 2020 washed up the shores of Ireland. The virus is still around but humans have already developed weapons against them. Vaccines are steadily being rolled out and it is the hope that we will have a proper summer this year. In the meantime, it has been a year of restrictions and easing. Travel outside the country is still a risky and expensive move, so people can only go around when restrictions are eased. I will begin a new series of posts at a time where restrictions are eased and people are able to move around. The hope is that these post would let people find some solace in the midst of this pandemic.

At the time these pictures were taken, the number of infections hasn’t sufficiently gone down to warrant inter-county travel. Because of this, I can only travel within the county. Fortunately, Donegal is a rather large county. It is in fact, the fourth largest county in Ireland. It allows me quite a bit of room to travel. Hopefully, I won’t run out of places to visit before the pandemic ends. A lot of times, I would just be driving around and I would notice some signs which would point to some interesting places. These signs are usually colored brown so they are rather easy to spot. One of the signs I saw was the Bluestack Scenic Route. It is not that far from Donegal town and I am familiar enough with the place to get there on my own.

I am aware that there is the Bluestack Mountains which are not too far from the area, I hope that there would be nice views to be had from there. The area is near the beautiful Lough Eske. I have been to the lake a few times and I do think it is quite lovely. The route would take me around the lake and hopefully from nice scenery. I don’t think it would be difficult to find beautiful scenery here since the Donegal countryside is very wild and beautiful. Add to that the beautiful Lough Eske, and I think I would have a lovely time here.
