I had several more hours before the sun goes down and I thought that I should revisit the Ring of Kerry. I liked it so much that I thought I should go through it again. It wasn’t a long drive to the main route of the Ring of the Kerry. I would be starting at the village of Sneem. I remember this village because of it’s unique name. Apart from the name, it is an attractive village which ordinarily would be buzzing with visitors but it was towards the end of winter and there weren’t a lot of people here. The main point of interest here is the bridge which crosses the River Sneem.
It is as I remember it. The River Sneem roars through the bridge and it comes out a mighty torrent of water. It is not very obvious when you look on the other side of the bridge. It is like a small waterfall with a bridge above it. There are restaurants by the cascades here and it looks like it would be a nice place relax. Except that the restaurants were at closed at that time. I wasn’t sure if it was because it was low season or I was just early. It is rather nice to feel that you have the place to yourself. I guess it really is very different without the hordes of tourists who go through here.
