I did my own ring of Killarney and managed to tour a few places such as the Torc Waterfall, Killarney’s Lakes and the Gap Dunloe. The area isn’t that large so it was possible to visit all of that in a single morning. I admit I drove through the Gap of Dunloe which made it even quicker. But I think I wouldn’t have mind it if I hiked the gap. Perhaps someday when the weather is better. I suddenly found myself with a lot of free time. I just had lunch at Kate Kearney’s Cottage and I wasn’t quite ready to head back to town. Since there was still quite some time before the sun goes down, I decided to go around the Ring of Kerry.
I have done the Ring of Kerry before and I absolutely loved it. There were quite a few scenic spots along the way and the weather was much better then. I have been to pretty much most of the ring but I just wanted to have another look. I won’t be doing the ones outside the main route like the Staigue Fort. According to the map, it doesn’t take a lot of time for me to get there. I would be heading to the village of Sneem where I would be starting my Ring of Kerry tour.
