When I arrived in the town of Killarney in county Kerry, it was already past noon. I was hoping to get here earlier than that but it seems that I miscalculated. I had to stop for breakfast and there was bad traffic in the town of Adare, not long after getting off the motorway. By this time, I was tired from all that driving and I just wanted to chill and rest. But first, I was hungry. I’m staying not too far from the center of town, so a lot of places are accessible. I actually drove to the town center. There is a car park in the middle of town and from there you can walk. I realized that it wasn’t really that far from my hotel that I didn’t need to drive in the first place. Anyway, from the car park, it was only a short walk to the main shopping street.
I passed by a small street which turned out to be lined with a few restaurants. I wasn’t too keen on having standard Irish food so I was looking for other stuff. Then I saw Rob’s Ranch House, it is a very American Western themed restaurant complete with full size statue of a cowboy. I believe it was meant to be like a place in Montana, somewhere I have been too not too long ago. I had a full rack of ribs which came in American size, to my delight. The chips were also fries which was also great. The ambience of the restaurant was fun though it really looks like a tourist place. The food wasn’t that bad either. The meat was falling off the bone and honestly, it was better than the ribs I had in Montana, though I probably didn’t go to the proper places when I was there.
