It has been a while since I last visited the south of Ireland. I managed to get some time off and I thought that I should go an visit one of the most visited places in the country – Killarney. To be honest, I always thought that this would be a tourist trap what with most visitors to Ireland make their way all they way there. I got out early and drove all the way down. I haven’t gone on long drives for a while so I think this would be a fun adventure. There was still remnants of winter at the time so there were some snow showers along the way. Even the mountains which I pass by are topped with snow. I actually wanted to stop and take photos but thought that it would be better to just get there earlier.
I was in no hurry since I would be spending a couple of nights there. Still, I wanted to get there as early as possible so I can see the sights there. I was mostly following the motorway until I needed to stop for some breakfast, which is basically just petrol station food. I hardly needed the GPS to get there since the way it very well sign posted. You can see where you need to turn if you are headed in the correct direction. You might need to know which major cities or towns comes first. That is, first head towards Galway, then to Limerick, then to Tralee then to Killarney. Once you are on the road, it really is as easy as it sounds.
