I was going through the motions of exploring the Jardin Majorelle. To me, it felt like I was visiting some rich person’s garden except that this was owned by a famous fashion designer. It was following the map which I was given when I purchased the ticket. There wasn’t much to say about the individual places here but what I realized was that the garden was much bigger than I thought. It would go around thinking that I have already visited some area but turns out that there would be doors which lead to other parts of the garden. It was almost like it was divided into sections.
In a quiet corner of the Jardin Majorelle is a small square with a pillar looking structure here. This is the Yves Saint Laurent Memorial. Yves Saint Laurent, a famous fashion designer purchased this place and it seems he spent a lot of time here in this estate. When he passed away, his ashes were scattered here in the garden. Now, there is a memorial that was erected in his name. There were a few benches here which surround the memorial and it seems to be nice place to relax. I couldn’t tell what the pillar was supposed to be. Maybe it is just like how I would see one of those fashion shows where I won’t know what they were thinking when they designed those clothes.
