I was pleasantly surprised at how organized Rabat is. This is a far cry from the madness that is found in the other cities that I have been to. Even the medina was spacious and organized as well. I guess this is the way Morocco shows to the whole world how much they have progressed. With all the progress that has been made over the years, Rabat hasn’t forgotten its roots. You can still see people going about as their ancestors have for hundreds of years. Rabat has a nice little promenade along the Oued Bou Regreg a river which cuts through the city. There were a lot of boats here which seem to be fishing boats.
I was then surprised to see what appears to be a different kind of traditional boat called a dhow. This unfortunately isn’t used for its original purpose but interestingly turned into a restaurant. I was excited at the idea of this. The Le Dhow is an upscale restaurant along the banks of the river. I think it is a fantastic location of a restaurant. And using an old dhow, you add a lot of character into the place. I heard this place can be quite expensive but I thought I should just give it a try. I already had my lunch so I should just give it a shot that evening.
